Pebbles Of Self-Esteem

Our self-esteem is a
Rock at birth
slowly and unconsciously
the rock is chipped
away by the patterns
of our lineage,
as if we are taught to
protect and shelter.
Eventually the rock turns
to a pile of pebbles
with which we pave
our roads, roads of
low self-esteem.
Roads that carry us as
partners and parents
to protect and shelter.
Roads laid in waste
of time misused.
These roads must be lifted
with each pebble turning
back to Rock forming
piles to love oneself.
